Earmark 0.5% of your IRS - A better future for all (duplicate)

Consignação IRS

Consignment has risen to 1%, solidarity must rise to 100

Portugal is one of the most unequal countries in the EU. According to Eurostat, in 2024, 2.1 million people were in a situation of poverty or social exclusion, so the role of Social Economy Entities is becoming increasingly important and it is our duty to highlight and support the merit of their work.

So, as usual, GRACE - Empresas Responsáveis is once again promoting an awareness campaign, reinforcing the importance of giving 1% of your personal income tax (IRS), which would otherwise go directly to the state, to a social economy organization. In GRACE Hub all the materials are available so that our Members can also join in spreading the word about the initiative.

What is it?

The IRS consignment allows each citizen to donate part of the tax they pay (after deducting deductions) through the IRS to a charitable organization, instead of handing it over in full to the state.

So, from a list of beneficiary organizations made available by the AT, you can choose the one you want to support, at no cost to you (i.e. if you get a refund, you don't get less for donating and if you have to pay additional tax, you don't pay more).

Which organizations can you support?

  • Religious institutions;

  • Private social solidarity institutions;

  • Collective persons of public utility for environmental purposes;

  • Cultural institutions with public utility status.

How do you do it?

The IRS consignment is done during the tax return submission period in a very simple way.

The entity can be selected in the IRS Automático or in the tax return (Form 3, cover sheet, box 11), and must always be indicated:

  • Type of organization you wish to support

  • TIN of the entity

  • Type of consignment: "IRS" or "VAT" or both

In the case of IRS Automático, the consignment is made in the "Pre-settlement" area.

The list of entities authorized to benefit from consignment is available on the Finance Portal.

Once again, we would like to thank our Members for their support Grafe, JCDecaux e Coming out of your shell.
